Erika Dreifus on NPR

December 29, 2011

The Jewish festival of Hanukkah has just ended, and we at Last Light Studio are proud to announce that this year’s celebrations featured one of our own on radio stations across the country: Last Light author Erika Dreifus contributed an original short story for NPR’s 2011 Hanukkah Lights program.

In an exquisite, short piece titled “Fidelis” (commissioned for NPR after the Hanukkah Lights producer read Erika’s LLS short-story collection, Quiet Americans), Erika explores faith, history and the fabric that binds a community through the lens of a young Marine on a Pacific island during World War II. NPR host Susan Stamberg does a wonderful job of reading Erika’s story. You can listen in even after the holiday via the Internet at this NPR link.

Bravo, Erika! We’re proud of you!
